Foreign investment in the culture sector is aimed at the development and diversification of the production and provision of cultural goods and services, in order to enhance and expand the marketing channels and export markets of the Cuban cultural product and cultural tourism, the promotion of logistics systems for the development of Cuban cultural and creative industries, as well as access to advanced technologies for the promotion and expansion of film production and commercialization, music, entertainment, visual arts, applied and industrial cultural in general. In this sector, the Cuban part defines the content of the cultural products and services to be developed. The establishment of companies with totally foreign capital in the distribution channels of cultural products and services in the national market is excluded.

Sector information
The culture sector has 28 companies that provide their productions and services in the different manifestations of art and shows: plastic arts, publishing, performing arts, the music, film and audiovisual industries, and the creative industries that promote and commercialize the work of thousands of creators of the plastic and applied arts and artisans in a general sense. It also has technical services and construction and assembly companies, which guarantee the maintenance and investment of its facilities. The system of Cuban culture annually develops dissimilar cultural events –fairs, workshops, festivals–, encounters between creators and their audiences that allow visitors to know the immense wealth of Cuban culture. Among the main events that take place are: the International Book Fair, the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, the Alicia Alonso International Ballet Festival, the International Latin Jazz Festival - Jazz Plaza, the Havana Biennial, the Festival del Caribe - Fiesta del Fuego, the International Handicraft Fair of Havana - Fiart and the Cubadisco Festival, among others.
